We get calls all the time from businesses asking us to build a website. The next thing out of our mouths, almost invariably, is, "Sure thing. But how are people going to find it?" At that point the potential client is stuck. They know they need a website, but they don't really know why.
Back in the late 90's, websites were barely even a thought for local business owners. But nowadays, if you don't have a website, you're not a credible business. (There's an argument to be made here about the necessity of a Facebook business page and an Instagram business page, but we'll make that point in another blog). But simply having a website doesn't do much for your business. There are well over one billion (yes, with a 'B') websites in existence, how will people find yours?
We recommend two very important things that can help drive traffic to your site, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Digital Advertising. Luckily, there's Google (and other search engines, though they're practically obsolete). Google has done a phenomenal job at making sure if you search for something, they'll make sure a relevant, up-to-date site, will come up. For instance, if I search 'Social Media Marketing in Vero Beach', Citrus Three's website will be number one. And because they're making sure the best option comes up first, we all continue to use Google. How does Google know they're giving us the best option? Because they look for websites that are updated frequently, using those keywords. So, doing that to your website, along with a few other things, will help Google move you up the list and result in more clicks to your fancy new site.
The other thing we recommend are digital ads, and specifically social media ads in our case. Not only is this unequivocally the best way to brand and market your business in the modern world, but it's a seamless way for people to see your stuff and immediately click to your site to learn more about what you have to offer. Think about it, if you're advertising on the radio and you ask people in your ad to visit your website, they have to either go to their phone while their driving, remember the site you just mentioned, type it in, and hopefully not have to call an ambulance after they crash. But if you're advertising through social media, people are already on their phones or computer and can literally just click the ad to visit your website.
These tools are absolute musts if you're looking at getting more eyes on your website. And as we like to say here at Citrus Three, 'Eyes Matter'.
As always, if you have any questions about digital marketing, whether it's social media, SEO, website creation, or anything of the like, give us a call and we'd be happy to chat more about it!
